SENEGAL – Aqualter wins two contracts for the construction of drinking water treatment plants in the towns of FATICK and KOUNGHEUL

The customer SONES (SOciété Nationale des Eaux du Sénégal) has just awarded AQUALTER, following international invitations to tender, the projects to build drinking water treatment plants for the towns of FATICK and KOUNGHEUL.

These two contracts are funded by the West African Development Bank (WADB). The commissioning of the two plants is scheduled in 2017.

The FATICK plant has a capacity of 3,600 m3 per day. It is located 135 km to the south-east of the capital, DAKAR. The contract is worth a total of €3.8 million, with AQUALTER as general contractor. The treatment of the well water is designed to eliminate fluorides and chlorides.

The KOUNGHEUL plant, whose capacity is 2,400 m3 per day, is situated 320 km to the east of the capital, DAKAR. The contract is worth a total of €2.5 million, with AQUALTER as general contractor. The treatment involves removing iron from the well water.
